Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the EarthRanger Field Operations Management System.

1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of your organization ("you") and the EarthRanger System operators ("System", "we", "us", or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the EarthRanger Field Operations Management System ("System").
By accessing, registering, or using the System, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with all of these Terms and Conditions, you are prohibited from using the System and must discontinue use immediately.
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to make changes or modifications to these Terms and Conditions at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of these Terms and Conditions, and you waive any right to receive specific notice of each such change.
Your continued use of the System after any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. System Access and Account Security
2.1 Account Eligibility
The System is intended solely for use by authorized enforcement personnel, supervisors, administrators, and affiliated organizations involved in environmental protection and field operations. By using the System, you represent and warrant that:
- You are an authorized member of a participating enforcement organization
- You have been provided with authorized access credentials by your organization
- You are at least 18 years of age or are accessing under the supervision of an authorized supervisor
- You will use the System in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies
2.2 Account Credentials and Roles
When you are assigned account credentials, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during account registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your account by not sharing your credentials with others
- Accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account
- Notify us immediately upon discovering any security breach or unauthorized use
User Role Classifications:
- Admin: Full system access including user management and analytics
- Location Based: Access limited to specific geographical areas
- Enforcer: Field personnel with patrol and event reporting capabilities
- Supervisor: Enhanced enforcer permissions with team oversight capabilities
2.3 Account Status and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the System, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms and Conditions
- Ending of your affiliation with an authorized organization
- Conduct determined to be harmful to system integrity or other users
- Unauthorized use or security violations
- Failure to maintain active enforcer status as required by your organization
3. System Functionality and Authorized Use
3.1 Permitted System Functions
You are authorized to use the following System functionalities in accordance with your assigned role:
Authentication Module:
- Account registration (where authorized)
- Secure login and session management
Dashboard Access:
- EarthRanger main dashboard with operational metrics
- Interactive map interface for patrol routes and event visualization
- Analytics dashboard with filtering and data visualization capabilities
Data Management:
- Event reporting, monitoring, and status updates
- Patrol route tracking and documentation
- Performance analytics and comparative analysis
Administrative Functions (Role-Dependent):
- User account management and permission assignment
- Enforcer management and performance monitoring
- System configuration and data export capabilities
3.2 Data Integrity and Accuracy
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when reporting events or updating patrol data
- Ensure timely reporting of field activities and incidents
- Maintain professional standards in all system communications and documentation
- Use appropriate severity classifications and status indicators
3.3 Geographic and Operational Limitations
Access to certain system features may be restricted based on:
- Your assigned operational area or location
- Your user role and permission level
- Organizational policies and security requirements
- Real-time operational needs and priorities
4. Prohibited Activities
You may not access or use the System for any purpose other than authorized field operations management. You agree not to:
- Access data outside your authorized geographic area or operational scope
- Share login credentials or allow unauthorized persons to access your account
- Attempt to bypass security measures or access restricted system areas
- Use the System for personal, commercial, or non-organizational purposes
- Interfere with system operations or attempt to compromise system integrity
- Upload or transmit malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
- Falsify patrol data, event reports, or performance metrics
- Use automated scripts or bots to access system data
- Attempt to reverse engineer or extract proprietary system algorithms
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or organizational policies
- Compromise the privacy or safety of field personnel or operations
- Use the System in any manner that could disrupt conservation or enforcement activities
5. Data Management and Privacy
5.1 Operational Data
The System processes various types of operational data including:
- Patrol routes, timestamps, and personnel assignments
- Event reports, locations, severity levels, and status updates
- Enforcer performance metrics and operational statistics
- Geographic data and mapping information
- Communication logs and system activity records
5.2 Data Accuracy and Retention
We implement measures to ensure data accuracy through:
- Scheduled data updates from EarthRanger API every 15 minutes
- Server-side data processing, normalization, and caching
- Automated backup systems and data recovery procedures
- Regular system monitoring and performance optimization
5.3 Data Security
Your operational data is protected through:
- Secure transmission using encryption protocols
- Role-based access controls limiting data visibility
- Server infrastructure with enhanced security monitoring
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 System Ownership
The System and its entire contents, features, and functionality are owned by the System operators, EarthRanger, and associated licensors. This includes all software, algorithms, user interfaces, data processing methods, and analytical tools.
6.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the System strictly for authorized field operations purposes. This license does not include rights to:
- Reproduce, distribute, or modify system software or interfaces
- Create derivative works or competing systems
- Use system data for commercial purposes unrelated to conservation
- Access or use proprietary algorithms or analytical methods
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices
6.3 User-Generated Content
You retain rights to operational data you input into the System. However, by submitting patrol reports, event data, and other operational information, you grant us a license to use this data for:
- System operation and performance optimization
- Aggregate reporting and statistical analysis
- Organizational reporting and compliance requirements
- System improvement and development purposes
7. System Performance and Availability
7.1 Service Levels
We strive to provide reliable system performance through our optimized server architecture, but cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted operation. The System may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance and system updates
- EarthRanger API connectivity issues
- Server maintenance or infrastructure upgrades
- Emergency security measures or incident response
7.2 Data Synchronization
The System operates with the following data refresh schedule:
- Server data updates from EarthRanger API every 15 minutes
- Real-time user interface updates for immediate operational needs
- Cached data storage for improved performance and reduced API load
- Automated data validation and error correction procedures
7.3 Performance Optimization
Our server architecture provides:
- Faster data retrieval through local caching
- Reduced load on external APIs
- Enhanced scalability for multiple concurrent users
- Improved response times for critical operational functions
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SYSTEM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR OPERATIONAL PURPOSES, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SYSTEM WILL MEET ALL OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, BE AVAILABLE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, OR THAT ALL DATA WILL BE COMPLETELY ACCURATE OR CURRENT.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE SYSTEM OPERATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SYSTEM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Operational delays or missed enforcement opportunities
- Data loss or corruption affecting field operations
- Security breaches or unauthorized data access
- System downtime affecting critical operations
- Decisions made based on system data or analytics
8.3 Operational Responsibility
You acknowledge that:
- The System is a tool to support field operations, not replace professional judgment
- Critical operational decisions should not rely solely on system data
- Field safety and personnel security remain your primary responsibility
- Backup communication and reporting methods should be maintained
9. User Conduct and Professional Standards
9.1 Professional Use Requirements
As a user of this enforcement and conservation system, you agree to:
- Maintain professional standards in all system interactions
- Use the System only for legitimate operational purposes
- Respect the confidential nature of operational data
- Follow organizational protocols for data sharing and reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of field activities
9.2 Enforcement Personnel Standards
Field enforcers using the System must:
- Maintain active status and good standing with their organization
- Complete required training on system use and data security
- Follow proper procedures for event reporting and status updates
- Coordinate with supervisors on operational priorities and assignments
- Maintain equipment and communication capabilities as required
9.3 Supervisory Responsibilities
Users with supervisory roles must:
- Ensure proper system use by personnel under their supervision
- Monitor performance metrics and provide appropriate guidance
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel performance data
- Report system issues or security concerns promptly
- Support training and professional development of team members

Disputes related to System use should first be addressed through your organization's internal procedures. Contact your supervisor or system administrator for:

BY USING THE EARTHRANGER FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO USE THE SYSTEM.
You further acknowledge that proper use of this System is essential for effective field operations, environmental protection, and personnel safety. Misuse of the System may compromise operational effectiveness and safety.
